Thirty children from Years 4 and 5 combined to represent the country of Tonga in a parade through Exeter City Centre in celebration of the Rugby World Cup. The children practiced some dance moves on the cathedral green before putting on the costumes and getting their faces painted. We had a mix of traditional Tonganese girls, Tonganese warriors and some watermelons! It was then finally time to get into parade formation and dance our way along the high street. The children were fantastic and had smiles on their faces the whole way. We ended up in Northern Hay Gardens for the finale where we performed alongside 200 other children from different schools in Exeter. A fantastic day and a unique experience for all of those involved!
