For their home learning, children prepared to teach a skill that they could pass on to their peers in school. It was interesting for them to experience 'being a teacher' and to reflect on what made an effective teacher and a good learner. It was a great afternoon and everybody enjoyed learning some new skills... even the teachers!
Here are some quotes from the afternoon...
"Alisha was a really good teacher because she went through all the karate steps slowly."
"Timmy taught me step-by-step how to tie a reef knot and when I made a mistake he helped me without making me feel silly."
"I knew how to make loom bands, but Nathan taught me a different way that's really good."
"Elliot was a good teacher. At first I was really worried about the skateboard, but he helped me."
"Sophie-Rae was really good when she taught me how to play the piano. She wasn't too bossy, but she wasn't too soft either."
