In Tracker Time Year 4 children have been learning all about Spain. Linked to this, in dance we have been exploring bull fighting. Children have really enjoyed being both the Matador and the bull and enjoyed learning new dance techniques. Have a look at the photos- can you spot who is the bull and who is the Matador?
4MC came in this morning to what they thought was a normal day at School only to discover a crime scene in their classroom! A section of the classroom was cornered off with warning tape and police notices! Within the taped off area we found lots of evidence ranging from an elastic band to some of what we assumed was Humpty Dumpty! Children became detectives and investigators and tried to gather any evidence! Some children became news reporters and some were Policemen while others looked for other traces of evidence around our classroom! What evidence can you spot in the photos?
The incredible investigating shown by 4MC has started off our new literacy topic of Newspaper Reports.
4MC have enjoyed a spectacular week of Science. We have loved investigating and experimenting and answering our scientific questions. We started our week by looking at electricity and had a go at making circuits. We then enjoyed experimenting with different materials to explore whether they were conductors or insulators! We had a brilliant gingerbread man day where we looked at how we could help the gingerbread man cross the river! We created outfits for him to wear to see whether we could keep him dry and afloat! Unfortunately several of our gingerbread men's outfits did not help them cross the river and several plummeted to the soggy gingerbread mess at the bottom of the bucket!
Inter house fun!
Stafford had a great afternoon doing lots of sports activities. We had to do some dancing with Mr Upston and some running with Mr Ansell.
All Year 3 and 4 Stafford children spent the afternoon together enjoying lots of fun 'healthy eating' related activities. Children had a go at creating their own healthy eating plates.
World Book Day 2017!
In 4LP we had a brilliant time being in Wonderland! We enjoyed various activities such as having a go at building a tower out of cards, making our own pop up Mad Hatter's Tea Party book and even having our very own tea party to end our day!
The children (and grown ups) all had a brilliant time and thoroughly enjoyed our day.
On Friday, we went down to Year 1 and shared some books with them. The children really enjoyed this and were very thoughtful and caring.
4MC had a fantastic world book day! We had lots of fun with our learning! First of all we read the Stick Man and then explored some activities linked to this book. We had to pretend to be birds and using only our two fingers to create a beak we had to build a nest (using sticks, moss etc) that would float on water and support an egg! This was very fun and also very messy! Our winning team managed to keep an egg safe for over 12 seconds!! We also had the opportunity to read to some Year 1 children. We really enjoyed this as we were able to show off our reading skills but also hear some amazing reading from Year 1 children!. We had the chance to read at several times throughout the day (whenever Miss Buckley rang her bell!). We finished our very enjoyable day by creating some artwork out of sticks and natural resources! We hope you enjoy our photos!
